LAS VEGAS – Eastman House is saluting its more than 150 years of mattress history with the launch of its new Founders Collection, the first organic collection under its Chittenden & Eastman label.

The new line pays tribute to founders G.M. Todd and H. Bailey, the entrepreneurs who launched the company in 1866. Today Eastman House is the oldest continuous mattress manufacturer in the country, according to the company.

The Founders Collection, hearkening back to the emphasis on healthy sleep that launched the company, is designed with natural materials, including organic wool and 100% natural Talalay latex, and shuns polyurethane foam for a more natural sleep experience, officials said.

The Eastman House Founders Collection salutes the company’s 150 years of history.

“The Founders Collection follows the legacy of our founders who were focused on creating luxurious mattresses made with healthy materials,” said Stuart Carlitz, president and CEO of Eastman House. “We’ve implemented much of the innovation upon which our company was founded in developing this collection, and selected best-in-breed materials to deliver the best sleep.Carlitz said the original Eastman House beds were marketed as a healthy alternative to other mattress lines.

The Founders Collection features seven different hybrid models, all with hand-tufting, high-quality pocketed coils, and layers of Talalay latex, with an exclusive tri-zone Talalay latex with more support in the center, officials said.

The collection also features organic wool in a heavy blistered, knit ticking for a natural cooling effect. The cover, inspired by current trends in clothing and home interiors, is designed in egg shell, taupe and brown hues for a classic look, Carlitz said.

The centerpiece model, the Masterpiece, will be showcased in Eastman House’s Las Vegas Market showroom, Market showroom, World Market Center B-1118. Masterpiece features a two-inch topper of natural latex for added comfort and retails at $2,499 in queen.queen.
